lyrics

It was early in the morning when we saw the red sun rise
The captain looked to us with fear in his eyes
He said “Me boys, we’d best be getting home.
For it’s likely we might not see tomorrow come.”

So we turned around and headed back west
We all prayed that our time on land was spent best
But as night fell, our sorrow shone like a crown
For that blasted hurricane was bearing down

And the mast it fell and the sails did tear
And the wind it hurled a man through the air
And all the men gave a silent prayer
And held to the hopes that soon Poseidon’s Wrath would clear

As we sailors sunk to the ocean floor
There we saw Davy Jones’ open locker door
He said “Me boys, I’ll make you a deal.
Serve me a century or Death’s pain you must feel.”

He said “Boys, now I don’t know about you, but for hundreds of years I’ve sailed this so-called life. I’ve had it. Now it’s time that we take everything that should rightfully be ours. Life. Now who’s with me? Who’s with me? Who’s with me?

Jones held in his hand
On our way back to land
Stolen from the sea god
Poseidon’s sacred brand
But we came to Zeus’ sight
We incurred the great god’s spite
Because man wasn’t meant to live twice

We sailed on toward dry land
As Zeus and Poseidon dealt their hands
Waves from below and fire from on high
Until we met another’s eyes.

The earth cracked and split and darkness closed
The fiery shape of Death imposed
As Hades laughed, “Your souls are now mine
Cause down here in Hell, we’ll have a fine time
Cause down here in Hell, we’ll have a fine time
Cause down here in Hell, we’ll have a fine time
